What we do
Scania is transforming from a heavy vehicle factory to a software-driven company. The products we deliver are smart connected robots, that interact with infrastructure and society, reducing environmental impact. On this journey, we need experts in electronics to help us continue to deliver world-class transport solutions.
In the Section, Component Design & Verification, we provide the electrical platform for a major part of Scania.
Your new job
As our new Hardware Designer, you will be responsible for the development of smart sensors and control units. Your base will be a group of around 14 colleagues with different backgrounds and experiences. We contribute with our knowledge in electronics and together with the rest of the Scania and Traton group, system architecture, test, production, and purchasing to specify, develop and test electronics hardware to ensure safe and qualitative vehicles. You will at the same time be part of a new team which are built up to develop electronic hardware for Autonomous vehicles. As the team are being created now, you will be part of the creation and will help out make it up and running.
As the products are becoming more and more complex, cooperation is key to success. On day to day basis you will be surrounded by fun and competent colleagues and you will share ideas, information, and knowledge. A key part of our group's DNA is that we feel safe together, that we can express our different views, that mistakes are allowed, and that we help and respect each other.
Your responsibilities
• Specify and develop the technical basis for ECUs, Advanced Sensors, and Antennas.
• Together with the rest of the development team, cross-functions and suppliers take care of technical challenges that occur.
• Independently drive development and change within your group.
• On trucks, in the lab, and by other means ensure that the parts work as intended.
Your profile
• We expect that you are either a new Master's graduate (preferably within electronics or similar) or that you have been working within the electronics area for a while.
• Since we have direct contact with suppliers during different project phases you appreciate tasks that include different challenges, both on a high technical level and within smart networking.
• You are comfortable working in different cross-functional groups and don’t mind when the road isn’t laid out for you.
• To thrive in this role you are a person who take initiative, who has a problem-solving mindset and a positive approach to taking on new challenges.
• You speak and write English fluently and preferably also Swedish.
We offer
In addition to career and development opportunities, we can also offer other benefits such as distance working in Sweden, a company car, company performance bonuses, a pension plan, flexible working hours, lunch at reduced prices, and much more.
